Inside & Outside Plastic Dressing

Plastic on a car ages faster than almost anything else on it.

Black trim around windows, the strips on bumpers, the panels around the steering wheel. All of it slowly fades from a rich black into a washed-out gray under San Diego sun.

Once that happens, it is the single feature that makes a car look “old” even when the paint and interior are still in great shape.

The detailer applies plastic dressing to every plastic surface inside and out and spreads it evenly with microfiber. The dressing brings the color back and adds a UV blocker that slows the fading down.

Outside, it crisps up the trim and side mirrors so the lines of the car look defined again. Inside, it warms up the dashboard and door panels so they look closer to factory.

It is a small touch that does a disproportionate amount of work in making a car read as newer and better cared for. Most of what people are reacting to when they say a detail “really popped.”
